Setting External Drive for Downloads in Ubuntu

Post by rferrett »

Hi,

Recently started using SABNZbd and I am blown away it is an amazing program. I have also evangelised about it to all my pals. On Windows I don't have any problems at all. However on Ubuntu (I dual boot and use Ubuntu most of the time) I cannot for the life of me seem to set the the download path to my external drive. Space is at a premium on my Ubuntu boot so this is quite a big problem.

Any advice?

Cheers

Which release are you using?
The 0.5.x series have the requirement that the external drive must be mounted before SABnzbd starts.
0.6.x doesn't need this for the final destination folder ("complete"),
it still does for the temporary download folder ("incomplete").

I am using 0.6.2 (I think from the config page). Like I said on the same machine in windows no problem setting the complete folder to external drive. But I cannot do it in Ubuntu. I suspect it is just me being a bit think and not understanding linux (I am quite new to Ubuntu in all if truth be told).

Whenever I think I have set a new destination on my external drive it just creates a new drive in my system. I am just totally at a loss as to how to do this! D'Oh!
