Dummie's question

Post by Abel »

Hi
I'm new to newsgroups and hence also to sabnzbd. I downloaded sabnzbd, but when I start it up my browser is directed to http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd, whereupon I'm asked for a username and password--which I don't have. I've rebooted, reloaded, retried...but can't get past this point, and thus have never got to the startup wizard. The sabnzbd website answer to this question is of little use; the wiki FAQs is little better (or so I found).

I'm on a Mac, OS 10.5.8, using Safari and the current sabnzbd application.

Many thanks and apologies for the nature of the question (probably a common one?).

Regards
AP

Yes, it's a common question.
Too many people don't read the Wizard pages very well
and enter their Usenet server account/password where they should/can enter the web page protection.

Try to login with your Usenet account.
If that fails, stop SABnzbd and remove this file:
/Users/user/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd/sabnzbd.ini

BTW: the next release will have a redesigned Wizard.
