Portable installation with linux

Post by Madsn »

In windows I've taken advantage of the portable option for sabnzbd to put my sabnzbd installation and settings in my dropbox folder. I would like to do the same for linux, but what would be the easiest way to do it?

I figure sabnzbd is in my /home/usrname/.sabnzbd folder, but if I rename and move this folder to my dropbox folder, what do I need to modify in order for the system to know where sabnzbd is?

with "-f" you can specify the location of your config file.

Thank you, that's nifty. Not quite what I had in mind as it's not portable, I would still need to install sabnzbd.
It is an easy way of pointing to a sabnzbd.ini file I've got in my dropbox though, so not a bad solution.

The only things that need to be installed are Python, yEnc, Cheetah and PyOpenSSL.
SABnzbd itself is just a bunch of files you can place anywhere.
