I've been using CouchPotato and Sick Beard to automate my nzb files. Both work fine and send the necessary files to sabnzbd, but in the last week none of the movies end up unpacking properly. When I first made the transition I had several files work just fine through CouchPotato which makes be believe the error lies with something I've done to sabnzbd.
The last file gave me the error of:
RROR:: write error ( in the file \\WDTVLIVE\My_Book\Movies\XXXXXXXX\_UNPACK_XXXXXXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXX-unrated.mkv
The file location is correct because it makes the new folder and moves the files properly but cannot unpack. Also, I cannot manually unpack the files afterwards. I find it hard to believe that it is an accident that the last 7 movies downloaded all came from bad nzb files. What else should I consider here?

Re: Sabnzbd will not work with movies (only works with TV)
I would like to add one more thing:
I just added a movie NZB manually and it resulted in the same error as when things are imported from CouchPotato. The TV episodes always work but the movies don't. This is getting pretty frustrating. Hopefully someone out there can help.
My errors so far have been:
Nothing - just the red skull next to the file in the history
"Unpacking failed, write error or disk is full?"
and
"Unpacking failed, an expected file was not unpacked"
Usually it unrars and creates a file that for some reason is not able to be played locally (in VLC) or on my media player...
Thanks

Re: Sabnzbd will not work with movies (only works with TV)
An an experiment you can tell SABnzbd not to unpack your files
and do it yourself using WinRAR or 7Zip.
If that gives the same result, you have a bad hand at picking downloads.
If not, tell me and we'll discuss how to solve it.
BTW: I assume "disk full" is not true.
Other reasons are that files are badly named and unrar has problems
writing the files because of it. Also, with weird names unrar and SABnzbd
sometimes disagree on how files should be named, resulting in "Unpacking failed, an expected file was not unpacked".

Re: Sabnzbd will not work with movies (only works with TV)
Not sure if this helps... but no the disk full is not true, although that would be a much easier solution. I have tried several different formats and they all seem to fail. The part that is so weird is that all of the TV episodes work just fine. I'm in the process of trying to download one without sabnzbd doing the unpacking. I'll post when that gets done. Here is my current screenshot.shypike wrote: An an experiment you can tell SABnzbd not to unpack your files

One more thing... I have already tried deleting the .ini file and reconfigured sabnzbd from scratch. Nothing different happened after that.

Are you using a network drive?
Are you use it supports Windows properly?
Try to download a movie to a local disk.

Re: Sabnzbd will not work with movies (only works with TV)
Yes I'm on a network drive. I've been using the same drive in the same setup for over a year now, so I'm not sure what would change. I re-downloaded a TV episode and a movie. The TV manually unrar'd fine and the movie had errors. I connected the networked drive directly to the computer via usb and it unrared like normal. I then put it back on the network and it seemed to be back to working properly. I'm going to re-add the failed movies to see if they will proceed as normal with sabnzbd doing the postprocessing. I think whatever was messing it up got fixed by disconnecting and re-connecting the networked drive.shypike wrote: Are you using a network drive?

The one thing that still bugs me though is why TV episodes would be fine but movies wouldn't work. Anyone have thoughts? Also, I'll post back with results on if sabnzbd can successfully unrar movies now.
UPDATE: The next movie downloaded and didn't unpack (I forgot each nzb had the settings already set and the general setting to unpack wouldn't affect it)... it wouldn't unpack manually either, but I believe it is due to a bad file. The next movie downloaded just fine. Hopefully all is fixed and it will continue to work as normal. I'll post back if anything fails. Thanks
