SABNZB wont accept login from local sickbeard

Hi all,

I am running on Windows 7+windows firewall, with latest version of SabNzbd 0.5.6.  I recently re-installed Windows onto another drive and copied SABNZB, and sickbeard back onto it, I also copied all settings from Users\Dave and everything seems to work except that I can't get SAB to accept sickbeard downloads any more.  The error im getting is:

Have followed those instructions, even re-entered all of my login information into sickbeard and SAB, tried un-installing, re-installing, generating a new API key, reboot, putting it into sickbeard, making sure login in sickbeard is correct and finally disabling the API-Key.

hmmm, it appears to be downloading episodes etc. just that the log is constantly showing the error every couple of seconds or so..

The error means that some program is trying to access SABnzbd automation interface.
Maybe it's SickBeard and you didn't give SickBeard the API-key that SABnzbd needs.
You can find it in SABnzbd's Config->General page (it's the long random text).

Hi all,
Stuck user here; I had SickBeard & SABnzbd+ working and I've blown it somehow i.e., I can't even figure what host/port to use for SAB.

My iMac's local IP: 192.168.1.66, I haven't changed the port setting (8080) and SickBeard's port is 8081

I d/led a fresh copy of SAB and ran the Setup Wizard successfully, but clicking a "download .nzb" link fails to initiate a d/l

If so, through which address and port?
Did you tell SickBeard the right api-key (Config->General)?

I generated a new api-key in SAB and gave it to SickBeard and restarted both apps, Sickbeard loads, SAB doesn't…

You need to start SABnzbd too.

SAB is running on:

and I can connect via Firefox

It and SickBeard:

fail to communicate…

I expect it's something obvious, just not to me

It looks like you're using port 8080 for Firefox and 8081 for SickBeard.
That won't work.
If Firefox uses localhost:8080 and it works, the SickBeard should use localhost:8080 too.

Sorry, my fault!
Sickbeard runs on port 8081 and SABnzbd on 8080.
Nothing wrong with that, in fact they need separate ports.
What I meant to say is that SickBeard needs to know that SABnzbd is using port 8080.
Did you set that up properly?

0.0.0.0 is not a usable IP address to contact SABnzbd (or any other service).
You can tell SABnzbd to use it, but it's a code for "listen on localhost and the IP address".
So, you need to tell SickBeard to use localhost:8080
