Unpacking failed, [Error 5] Access is denied while running rar_unpack on ....

Hi All,

I am getting unpacking failed errors as mentioned in the subject line.  I've scoured these forums but am unable to find an answer.  I've reinstalled and restarted both SABnzbd and Unrar.

This is happening on all Rar files.  I am able to unrar them manually.  Not many places when I can set permissions to folders.

Any Ideas on how I can Troubleshoot this issue?

You need to look at access rights of the base folder where SABnzbd creates the job folders.
It assumes that the base folders rights are OK and that these are inherited by subsequent new subfolders.

I believe I have set my permissions correctly.  I have relaxed them for the sake of troubleshooting.

As an example, I have SABNZBD extracting/moving all TV files to the F:/TV Folder

At the root of F both both the system user and the everyone user has been given full access rights. 

My TV sub folder is currently a share as well but both the system and everyone user also has full access rights.

Currently all sub folders of F: are inheriting their permissions from the root folder.

All my download and unpacking folders are also at f:/download.  Permissions are inherited from Root.

Am I missing something?

Solved.

It was sunbelt firewall causing me the problems.
