Hello,
I've got a Syno DS207+ with the latest firmware: 3.0 1354 and Merty's SAB package http://www.mertymade.com/syno/#sabnzbd and am having all kinds of stability issues lately. The syno will hard lockup when downloading files. It almost always happens when there are multiple files in the queue.
I do have Only Get Articles for Top of Queue enabled as well as Pause Downloading during post-processing. These are the only settings I can think of that would have an impact when multiple files are being downloaded.
Anyone run into the same issue or perhaps have some other tweaking suggestions? The Syno is a great machine, sadly with not a lot of RAM or CPU. I can download nzb's around 2MB/s though which is all I need.
Thanks,
Froz

Re: Synology DS207+ Crashes on multiple files in queue
How much memory do you have?
256M should work OK anything less can be a challenge.
I assume you have not enabled the article cache?

Re: Synology DS207+ Crashes on multiple files in queue
Only 128 on this box. Nope, i surely don't have enough ram for the article cache. one thing i do notice is that it runs the CPU to 100% while downloading or doing anything. It's always done that though.
Re: Synology DS207+ Crashes on multiple files in queue
You've done all you could do.
Did the problems begin with a particular version of SABnzbd or updates of the NAS?
The only other tip I can give you is to stop SABnzbd and start
it once with the --clean option.
The alternative is to stop SABnzbd and erase all files in the "cache" folder.
This will wipe the queue too.

Re: Synology DS207+ Crashes on multiple files in queue
Thanks. I can give that a shot. I'm pretty sure that SAB is not pausing downloading while it is extracting and that is what is causing me a problem. Is there a way to guarantee this doesn't happen, perhaps a script or something?
thanks
thanks
Re: Synology DS207+ Crashes on multiple files in queue
Odd, it is supposed to stop downloading if you enable that option.
However, when post processing starts it will finish all pending article downloads.
