Hey,
When downloading some PAR's fail for whatever reason and on retrying they will download fine. Other software i have used has auto-retried the failed parts to try and complete the rar's, however i have't identified this feature in SABnzbd yet.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: Auto-retry failed files
Retrying failed downloads is a feature coming in SABnzbd 0.6.
Re: Auto-retry failed files
And that's quite a way off i imagine?
Re: Auto-retry failed files
I would want to troubleshoot the failing for whatever reason and solve the problem that way.

You can join the Alpha program if you want.Bizmark wrote: And that's quite a way off i imagine?
Re: Auto-retry failed files
Im downloading extremely old posts, so sometimes par's dont come through as cleanly as new post. However running this side by side with another newsreader im getting more 'Unpacking failed, CRC Error" issues than my other reader by a factor of 3. I havent read and implimented all the possible fixes for this yet so thats why i was asking about auto retry until ive exhausted all means of troubleshooting the errors.pobox wrote: I would want to troubleshoot the failing for whatever reason and solve the problem that way.
Re: Auto-retry failed files
If downloads pass their par2 verification and still have CRC errors when unpacking,
then the number possible of causes is limited.
Either par2 or unrar don't work properly on your hardware or the hardware itself is not entirely reliable.
SABnzbd has very little influence on either cause.
par2 is a rigorous quality filter (assuming the program itself is reliable).
Does your other newsreader use different versions of par2 and unrar or does it implement it's own?
Is this Windows or Mac or Unix?

Re: Auto-retry failed files
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I would definitely be interested in doing some Alpha testing to try out this (and other) features if you still need more testers...shypike wrote:You can join the Alpha program if you want.Bizmark wrote: And that's quite a way off i imagine?
Re: Auto-retry failed files
OK, but wait until the next Alpha (this week).
