Locked Files Cannot Delete / Move / Anything
All files that have been downloaded through SABnzbd are locked and cannot be deleted. I can't delete the files, the folders, anything. All of the permissions on the files are also set to read only. Everytime I try to delete something it says access denied check to make sure the file is not in use or write protected. I have tried to restart the server, I have rebooted, I have shut down sabnzbd and I still can't delete, move, or even rename files. I am running SABnzbd on Windows Home Server with service pack 2. This problem has stopped me from fully setting up my server because I would never be able to manage any of my files if I can't move or delete them. Please help!!!!Thanks in advance.
Re: Locked Files Cannot Delete / Move / Anything
Where do you let SABnzbd store the end result?
The "temporary download folder" should be on the D: drive,
but your final destination folders should be something like this: \\servername\\sharename
Otherwise you bypass WHS's network file system.
Also you should setup access right for the shared folders in WHS.

Re: Locked Files Cannot Delete / Move / Anything
The temp folder the files are going to is D:\shares\Sabnzbd\Temp
I should also meantion that Sabnzbd is running on this server.
I just tried with changing the final destination folder to a \\ path and I still have the same problem. The files I just downloaded cannot be moved, renamed, or deleted. Thanks for the help.

Re: Locked Files Cannot Delete / Move / Anything
It appears the problem has been fixed by properly setting up the file in the WHS console with sharing. But now I have a shared folder (not sure how I shared it) that I can't delete. But for the most part this appears fixed. Any ideas on deleting the folder that keeps saying it is in use can't delete. Thanks again.
Re: Locked Files Cannot Delete / Move / Anything
You cannot just start writing in d:\shares, that's asking for trouble.
Keep your temp files in a separate folder in the root of D:

Re: Locked Files Cannot Delete / Move / Anything
I actually had this myself and just figured where the permissions problem lies (atleast from what I can gather; this worked for me).
If you locate your SABnzbd temp download folder. In my case D:\shares\Temp on my WHS machine. Right Click > Properties > Sharing Tab > Permissions Button (towards the bottom of that panel, above "Caching". In there there should be one user listed - Everyone. Originally, only the "Read" box was checked for me. I checked full control and applied it all and I was then able to delete/move things without getting silly "In use" errors.
I'm not sure if this is exactly what your experiencing and I'm not sure if it'll be of any use for you but it's my 2 cents none the less
Cheers.
