ive started to turn my HTPC off during the day, i would have thought that when i boot up the machine and run SAB that it would automatically start downloading items it had missed whilst the machine was off.

am i missing something?

What do you mean by "it had missed"?
Missed what?

lets say whilst the machine is switched off an NZB appears of a TV show that is in my RSS feed 'hit list', i would have thought that when i switch the machine on and load up SAb that it scans the RSS feed and picks up the NZB of the TV show it had missed whilst being switched off.

It will, if you enabled the RSS feed definition (tickbox upper left corner).
It may take a while before the timer triggers the readout of the feeds.

i have that ticked as it works fine if i leave the pc on 24/7

its just whenever i turn the machine off it never, well i say never for the past 2 days anyway since i started turning the pc off, it never picks up the missed nzb's when booted back up

the pc has been switched on around 5hrs now and it hasnt picked them up

Does it see the new stuff when you "Preview" the feed in SABnzbd?

Are the missing items still in the RSS feed ?

- Open the RSS feed in a reader (for example FF)
- do you see the missing items ?
- If yes , then indeed something is faulty .... if not.. well then sabnzbd+ can not download them.

Many RSS feeds have a very low retention rate.
So if you don't read them for a few days you might miss items.
