Configuring Sabnzbd with Windows Home Server

Post by aaydah76 »

I have nzbd on my windows 7 system..  I went out and bought an Acer Easystore WHS and would like to configure sabnzbd to download everything onto the server instead of on the Windows 7 system.  Would I need to delete sabnzbd completely off of my windows 7 system? Can I still use sabmonitor and fetch downloads from my windows 7 system and have it downloaded onto the home server?  Sorry if i am asking something that has already been answered

Just give sabMonitor the new URL of SABnzbd on the server.

Probably you should not run both SABnzbd's at once,
because you may use to many connections to your Usenet server.

The WHS will be the permanent place to save my files  should I uninstall sabnzbd from my Windows 7 machine???

sabMonitor needs to know which SABnzbd it needs to communicate with.
So, you give it the required URL.
This is independent of whether SABznbd is installed locally on the Win7 system.
If you don't use SABnzbd anymore on the Win7 system, you can (not must) remove it.

Basically you give SABmonitor the same URL as you use when accessing it with the browser.
Your local (Win7) SABnzbd uses (probably) http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd
and your WHS one something like http://whs-server:8080/sabnzbd.
I assume you can reach SABnzbd on the WHS with the browser?
If not, then you have another problem.
