I have recently signed up to a giganews trial, and am using sabnzbd for mac. I just want to make sure I am downloading through SSL. I have the following setup:
In the "general" tab, i have enable https selected
In the "servers" tab, I am downloading through news-europe.giganews.com on port 563. The box for "SSL" is ticked, and testing it it says connection successful. I am currently downloading an nzb and it is downloading fast
But am i downloading through SSL? or is this not possible, because i only have a giganews trial?
thanks
How do i check for sure whether I am download through SSL?

If you're on port 563, and the ssl box is ticked, you're doing it right.
If you really want to test, get a second computer and wireshark, and try to spy on the packets.
