Ability to add segments to previously dled nzb

Post by ugokanain »

Though everyone is hoping for the best with nb, it might stop working as we know and love. Maybe it might be necessary to find a workaround, if they have to remove listings from their site. This implies that some posts that didn't made it all at one time, might need to be dled throughout a longer time horizon, because nb won't be able to update the nzb since it was removed before all the segments were available.

It might then become important to be able to keep adding nzbs until all the segments have been dled or enough par2 become available. This can became messy since the nzbs you add might not have a common name (like the ones that nb gives), but you would have to use the post id, or segment names. Any ideas?

Depending on what happens in the next few months with nb, this might also happen to other indexing sites. Once finally all the tools became available to simplify the newsgroups, someone tries to mess things up. Even though nb isn't perfect indexing everything (some don't make it and others take for ever), it is the best thing since slice bread. Sab is the penut butter (or nutella depending on which side of the pond you are) :) Really would dread having to read all the posts in the raw again.

If it's no longer possible to get reliable NZB files, it's time to stop automation.
SABnzbd is not for scraping together posts,
there are better programs for that.

Having said that, most fully automated NZB indexing sites do a wonderful job.
NB is under fire because of their human-edited reports.
They cannot claim innocence because of that reason.
