Unpack to no folder at all

Post by roads »

If there is a category specified it would be nice if the nzb is unpacked into that folder without subfolder that is named to the nzb. I do not need an extra folder for each download. I thnk most people would appeciate this. Would prevent folder opening sessions and spare time. Hope you like this feature.

Though it's being tracked, I'm going to discuss with shypike not bringing that ticket over. SABnzbd should never overwrite files, and filename collisions are exactly why we have the one level of required folders. If you want to do this, use a third party script, there are several which do this already.

Please do bring it over as an option. If the file is there allready overwrite the file. Just write beside the option that files will be overwritten. A script is not an option for most of us noncoding fellas. :) For some files it is good to have a folder if a file is called jabenzfhsad-a.avi its fine. Its particularly TV that do not need folders.

Use the "TV" sorting options.
(A bit tricky to set up, but it does the job you ask for.)

With stuff like this, we have to take in account our full userbase and the widest possible range of NZBs. We also have to protect our users from themselves whenever possible, and a function that could inherently result in data loss is something we have to seriously consider if it's a good idea to implement.

And since this is something that's already accomplished through third party post-processing scripts, it seems like a good function to defer to Other People.
