How do i change folder where i save to

Post by Nicklewis »

Hi,  Apologies if this has been addressed before i ve had a look through but couldnt see.

I have set up sab to save to my c drive but i would prefer to swith to my d drive or even better one of my external drives. Looking in the config tab it would appear that its locked to my c drive. Any pointers on how i can change this. Thanks to anyone who can point me to what i should be doing.  :)

It isn't. Just put in an absolute path in any of the directories, eg D:\whatever\downloads

The relative path is determined by your user profile.
If you want another path, you'll need to enter the full path.

That isn't an option, that's just a label stating where the default directories are stored. You can set any of the actual directory settings (eg: "Temporary Download Folder", "Completed Download Folder") to an absolute path (eg: "D:\Downloads") and it will work perfectly fine.

Thanks inpheaux/shypike had mentioned, i had just read through the pages shypick pointed to and had concluded the same.
I was hpoing it was possible to reset the directory settings, but just cant work out how. I have looked on config folders but there doesnt seem to be an option to change there. Any chance of being more expicit to how i can reset to an absoulte path.

A friend who recomended sab suggested doing a reinstall from the drive i want to use, just waiting for drive to clear data so can reformat it first.

Thanks for the suggestions

Just set an absolute path for all the directories you want to move to another directory.

I promise it isn't hard.

If you want your download dir on a different drive, set it to D:\whatever\downloads

If you want your incomplete dir on a different drive, set it to D:\whatever\incomplete

If you want your watch dir on a different drive, set it to D:\whatever\blackhole

You don't reset the "base" directory, you just explicitly set the full path for all other directories.

Ok thanks , I am not getting this i know to reset the absoulout pathto my new drive. I just cant figure out how to, ie in config of the program or some other way. There is nothing that is obvious to me. Sure others must have same prob. Ive set it up on another system so I am sorted in the short term, but if you could point me to  the location of where i should set an absoloute path, then i can put this to bed.
