Hi again
I still cant get my downloads to start. Im getting the error message "permissions none use octal notation" but i was getting the same message the other day and was downloading ok. I changed the setting to debug and tried again but still getting nowhere.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

Stop SABnzbd first.
Try cleaning the queue by starting up like this.
Press Windows-key R
In the box type:
c:\program files\SABnzbd\SABnzbd.exe --clean
This will wipe your download queue and history.
After that reload your NZB files.
How do you shutdown SABnzbd normally?

I tried cleaning the history as you told me and it hasn't made any difference. I always go to home and shut it down that way as i realise when you don't it causes problems with the ports. I'm still not getting any joy with this at all and i've re-checked all my settings. Do you think i should uninstall then re-install and c if that works?

I suggest you try release 0.5.0 Beta5 or Beta6.
(Beta6 is better, but contains a silly error which makes the server test button fail).
