sabnzbd starts ok & opens web gui. i can amend config & save ok. it reads from the watch folder & downloads fine.
however, if i close the browser tab & try & re-oen i get 'page can't be displayed'. the vista gadget, firefox addon and systray SABnzbdMonitor all fail to connect. i've tried with/without login & api - same result.
have disable kaspersky but results are the same.
any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

noy sure if this helps, but added 127.0.0.1 to the hosts file and now browsers can connect, but not the the vista gadget, firefox addon and systray SABnzbdMonitor.

It's quite likely that the IPV6 address [::1] is used for "localhost".
It makes little sense in todays network world, but that's what Vista and Win7 do.
Go to the Config->General tab and set the host address to 127.0.0.1
and use that address for everything related to SABnzbd.
The alternative is to modify the hosts file and tell Windows that localhost is 127.0.01 and not [::1].
