Automatically download subs

Post by pven »

I would really love it if subs can be downloaded automatically, ie by using the downloaded filename and looking it up by using some kind of search-engine. Right now it takes a lot of time to click around and download the subs, it should be automated.

Is there something around that fullfills this for me? :)

there's something called YAMJ which downloads covers, plots etc for display as a web based jukebox.  I believe that can be told to also download subs.

Thanks! I'll have a look at it. If it does what I want, I will update this topic. :)

You should use Media Player Classic which has this nifty feature to search online (open subtitle database) for subtitles correspondending to the filename of the loaded file.

Works pretty good actually, you should give it a try.

I founbdn SubDownloader. Great program! Unfortunately it is not free anymore, but if you look around you'll find 'old' freeware-versions. :)
