CRC Error

Post by MindedSage »

Dear SabNZBd,

I've been using SabNZBd for a very long time. Since a couple of months i'm getting an error when i download certain NZB's. For now, it looks like almost 60% of all my downloads fail because of an CRC error. This is the error message i'm seering all those times:

ERROR: CRC failed in "DVD\the_blabla_blabla_2004.iso".

Now when i repair the files manually with quickpar, most of the time it goes well, because Sabnzbd has downloaded enough pars, but sometimes i have to download some more.
When i use the same NZB file to download the files with grabit for example, all goes well. I've searched these forums, and found this error, but they were only on 1 NZB file. I get them on almost 60% of all my NZB files.

I have posted my logs here and here. I didn't know which part to filter out, but i hope you can find it anyways. I've had this error since the previous version. So i tried updating SabNZBd and i switched to another usenet provider (from eweka to hitnews) all with no result.

Can anyone of you help me?
Kind Regards,

MindedSage

Does unrar give the CRC error?

How do you unpack after you run QuickPar?
We have had some reports from people on non-Windows platforms
that they needed to upgrade from unrar 3.80 to unrar 3.90.

You could try to replace the unrar.exe program with a new release.
Download from here: http://www.rarlab.com/rar_add.htm
You should pick this one: http://www.rarlab.com/rar/unrarw32.exe
(You need to run it to let it unpack itself).

Thanks for your quick reply.

If i unpack manually i unpack it using Winrar 3.9. It is a Windows Server 2003 machine.

Where do i have to place that file? In the SabNZBd directory?

If you installed SABnzbd in the standard location, it's:
c:\Program Files\SABnzbd\win\unrar\unrar.exe

You can replace the unrar.exe by the one in the WinRAR 3.90 installation:
c:\Program Files\WinRAR\unrar.exe

Please report your results.
Maybe we should replace the unrar in the distribution files.

You can remove the logs, the interesting part is missing.
