CRC-error when downloading large files

Hi,

I'm new to SABnzbd+ and have an issue when I download large files... I get this error about six to seen times per download:
2009-05-16 00:25:54,088 WARNING [decoder] CRC Error in.....

After the download it's not possible do unRAR the files.
I run the application on Windows and have disabled the autoRAR-function.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Do you have any other problems with your system such as blue screens or general bad system stability?

CRC Errors tend to indicate memory (RAM) issues, hard drive issues, or network card issues that are outside of SABnzbd's control.

CRC errors in articles can happen, not all posts are complete or 100% correct.
That's why people usually post par2 files as well.
What does SABnzbd report about repair attempts?

Verifying and repairing is 100%...
I managed to download some files now without the CRC-error. I looks like it occurs more often when I put .nzbs in que. (watchfolder)
I still can't unrar them because of the CRC-error....
However my system has not reported any other strange behaivour. I run Windows XP SP2 x64 with 4GB RAM.

Try to re-check/repair the files with QuickPar.
Sometimes people just post garbage.

Again, CRC errors during download are nothing to worry about as such.
As long as repair is done.

Which OS are you using? We have seen problems with the par2 program
on some non-Windows platforms.

I found the program and checked the files. It seems like 4 files are damaged. I have tried to download this several times now...
I think something happens during the download process but I'am not sure.
Can I fix these damaged files in some way?

Or it's a transmission problem or a temporary server problem.
There are multiple parties involved. You should not always blame SABnzbd.

BTW: You say "4 files are damaged".
Didn't you download the PAR2 files that allow you to repair the files?

I am not blaming sabnzbd! I love the program! It's the best, don't get me wrong here.

Let's say I download 50files. Of these 50 about five or six needs to be downloaded again.
I get the par2-files but I really don't know how to use them. If you have the time I would appreciate if you gave e some tips!
I tried the program you tipped me about but it only gives me the information that the files are damaged.
Sabnzbd does something when verifying because the damaged clips get the extension .01 but no luck to unRAR anyway.
My solutions right now is to download the bad files again...then it works.

I have reverted to Windows XP 32-bit SP3 just to see if that was the case but had no luck yet...

Maybe you should read through our Wiki a bit.

The ideas is that SABnzbd does all the work for you.
The ideal is to set the Post-processing to "+D", this way SABnzbd will:
- download all required files
- check the downloaded files
- download extra par2 files when needed
- repair any damaged files
- delete the par2 files
- unpack any resulting rar or zip files
- delete the rar/zip files if unpacking succeeded

I think you set a "empty" post processing option, so SABnzbd will only
download, but not anythging else.

Hard to diagnose these problems.
All works fine on my Vista64 system (and XP and Ubuntu and OSX and Debian).
Sometimes the posts are just corrupted.

It has actually workt really well the last couple of days.
No CRC-errors the last seven downloads.

Maybe it was the x64 version of Windows? Or maybe something temporary with the servers...
Anyway, I changed back all the settings to extract the files aswell.

I hope this works from now on.
