Sabnzbd doesn't open from Applications folder

Post by Hans49 »

I downloaded the Sabnzbd 5.0.1 DMG file from the site, installed it and it showed neatly in the Applictions folder. But it won't run / open when clicked upon. I have an Apple M2 running on Tahoe 26.4.1, and never had an issue with Sabnzbd (SABnzbd-3.6.1-osx). Did I miss something and if so, what?

Thanks for your time

Can you try this and post the output?
Run SABnzbd on macOS via Terminal using /Applications/SABnzbd.app/Contents/MacOS/SABnzbd --console

Open the Terminal app and copy paste the command.
Then hit enter.
It will probably display something of an error.

I tried to copy/paste the output in this window, then press submit then the Forum responds with : New users are not allowed to post links. So why is this happening and how can I submit the output?

I think you or your browser has auto-filled the 119 port (which is normally used for usenet servers) in the settings for SABnzbd webhosting itself.

You can run this in the Terminal:
/Applications/SABnzbd.app/Contents/MacOS/SABnzbd --console --server 127.0.0.1:8080

After this SABnzbd will start on its normal port (8080). After this you can just use it from Applications, since this new setting is stored.
