Is it possible to ignore some disk errors? [Strange characters in download]

Post by roybridge »

I'm running SabNZBD on a linux machine, with all files being saved to a NAS unit.

A lot of NZB downloads contain "impossible" file names that contain backslashes and double colons e.g. /home/pi/MILNAS/complete/incomplete/True.Detective.S02E08.1080p.HDTV.6CH.x265.HEVC-PSA.mkv-xpost/[N3wZ] \fE50P277901\::[PRiVATE] \997d9d2acf\::4af89eacbf3334.744a1cd19ef7b5788d64437a2f28d6.f14162a9::_cde7cb32badf_ [newzNZB] [1_1] - yEnc 1533102627 (1_2139)

Is there a way to automatically ignore these errors and continue with the downloading?

Have you tried Config -> Switches: Make Windows compatible

So: http://127.0.0.1:8080/config/switches/#sanitize_safe if SABnzbd is on your local machine.

No, I haven't tried that. Thank you pointing it out. I've set it and will test.

Raspi (Linux) and NAS, so I guess SMB / CIFS protocol (or Windows filesystem like FAT or NTFS), but not NFS ... ? Then such things can happen

When you start up SABnzbd, don't you get ".... is not writable with special character filenames. This can cause problems.
To prevent all helpful warnings, disable Special setting 'helpful_warnings'."

... or did you disable helpful_warnings ... ?
