Attempting to Migrate from Windows to Docker Desktop

Post by npz999 »

Hi, I have spent all day attempting to find the issues in my setup. I saved a few copies of my backups from SABnzbd that was running on my Windows machine. Once I attempt to run any image of SABnzbd in docker I can make it to the setup wizard page on localhost:myport. When I select restore from backup and go through the steps of uploading my files, it attempts to apply my orignal config, then it says the page isn't working. I have looked at the logs in Docker Desktop over and over and I have even attempted to get chatGPT to help me debug them but I can't seem to solve this problem. Thank you in advance, anyone !

The restore can only really be used if you are on the same type of system. It will now apply Windows paths and ports to the Docker setup. Which won't work.
Most likely the configured port is the problem.

Docker can be hard, because of the isolation, and the resulting directory mapping that's needed.
SABnzbd on Windows is much easier.

So: do you really want that?

So if you really want SABnzbd on Docker (on your Windows machine?), better to first try to get SABnzbd-on-Docker working at all, for one newsserver, and a few test downloads. First check: do the downloads arrive on your host system where you want them ... ?
