Lost connection to Sabnzbd

Post by mongolc »

Ever since I updated sabnzbd from 4.3.1 to 4.3.2 I keep getting Lost connection to Sabnzbd error in my browser.

2024-06-25 10:10:51,617::DEBUG::[interface:144] Request GET /api from 192.168.1.181 [Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/126.0.0.0 Safari/537.36] {'mode': 'history', 'failed_only': '0', 'start': '0', 'limit': '30', 'archive': '0', 'last_history_update': '1', 'output': 'json', 'apikey': 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx', '_': '1719327291789'}

That does appear at exact time it happens.

any ideas? Thanks.

Is the browser on the same machine (so the SunOS machine)?

If not, what is between the SunOS and the browser in terms of network, cabling, firewall, VMs, etc?

Does it happen if you use a local browser on the SunOS machine running SABnzbd?

Yeah still happening while running a browser on the server.

for anyone that ever forgets how to turn the graphical login back in on OpenIndiana

svcadm enable svc:/application/graphical-login/lightdm:default

I'm flabbergasted.

Back to the basics: "Lost connection to Sabnzbd" means your browser cannot reach SABnzbd anymore. Typical reason:

1- server side / SABnzbd overloaded / too busy
2- network problem: packet loss, intermittent problems, etc
3- SABnzbd not getting CPU / network resources from host OS
4- less likely, and only on Windows firewall / virusscanner kicking in because it thinks traffic is suspicious

Now your situation:
1- seems impossible with the beast hardware you've got. You're not using VMs nor docker ...?
2- ruled out by using a local browser
3- ... don't know
4- you're not on Windows

So ... does this ring a bell for you? Not for me; I'm lost.

yeah it doesn't make any sense why I am seeing this. I've even used renice to move the priority up but the processor is never heavily in use at all. I only use this server for my media files because of ZFS. It just started after the last release I'm going to downgrade back to sabnzbd-4.3.1 and see what happens.

yeah not using VM or docker

Actual preformance is not hurt by any of this. Radarr & Sonarr add episodes/ movie no problems. They are downloading and extracting without any problems.

Wait: after a while (a few seconds, or a bit longer) do you get the SABnzbd webinterface again?

You should.

If not ... that could be a clue! So:
SABnzbd running at all?
Is it still listening to the port (netstat -tulpen)?
Can you access it with curl?
anything in your syslog?

1-3 second disconnects then back to web interface.

SABnzbd is running.
that netstat command doesn't work will look into how i can monitor that port in realtime
yes i can access with curl
nothing in syslog

Ah, yes. That is typical, and typical for overloaded/intermittent-network-problems. And we ruled those out already. I don't understand.

Did you do that? If that works, it would a SABnzbd thing. If not ... not.
