sabnzbd downloading at about 1.8 MB/s sometimes when my connection allows for up to 56MB/s

Post by mhmm »

hello i some issues with sab downloading at about 1.8 MB/s sometimes when my connection allows for up to 56MB/s and that is what it uses most of the time, i use newshostings servers with sab and whenever this happens it seems to also slow down my internet connection overall not just in sabnzbd but in general with all other apps. although it lowers it from 56MB/s to about 15-20 MB/s and sabnzbd does not even use that it only uses a bout 2MB/s when these slow downs happen.
any help is appreciated

OS -- MAC OS ventura 13
i am on latest version of sabnzbd

bits versus bytes? What does https://fast.com/ say? Note: https://fast.com/ reports in Mbps (so: bits), whereas SAB reporst in MB/s (so:bytes)

The usual 3 steps you should do:

While SABnzbd is NOT doing/downloading anything: In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and there click on the Refresh Arrow. Post the values of the lower part here.

Then, again via Wrench symbol:
click Test download 1GB. After downloading, in history, at the download in the drop down, what was the resulting speed? Example "Download Downloaded in 55 seconds at an average of 22.9 MB/s"
Same for the 10GB test download.
