Excluding files to download

Post by Wdavies39 »

I'm running SABnzbd on Unraid 6.10.0 rc4. I'm using Sonarr as an Indexer

I've set SABnzbd to Blacklist nfo, sfv, jpg files, and added nfo, sfv, jpg to the Cleanup list - but still, whenever a Monitored program episode is downloaded, SAB downloads all the nfo and jpg files for ALL episodes - often 200 files for a big series.

I'm getting fed up of going in and deleting these files after every episode is added.

I must be doing something wrong - can somebody please tell me how to exclude downloads of nfo, jpg etc - i.e. anything other than movie files.

Thanks

SAB downloads all the nfo and jpg files for ALL episodes - often 200 files for a big series.
That is correct behavior; see what is written at Cleanup List:

"Cleanup List: List of file extensions that should be deleted after download. "

You can't exclude them, because often these files are also part of the par2 verification set. So if we don't download them and then verify the download, it will indicate files are missing and we have to download extra par2 files to repair them.
We only know if a download is broken and can't exclude specific files from verification and repair, because it's done by external tools (par2cmdline).
So yeah, there's only the option to delete it after downloading like Sander explained above.

Thanks for the quick reply, sander and safihre. I understand why it's necessary to download the files. I have set up an Automator script to search and delete non-movie files, but of course, the next time I download an episode, then all the jpg and info files are re-downloaded.

Am I correct in assuming that if I have a complete download , I can switch monitoring off and none of the nfo and jpg files will download ?

Switch off which monitoring?
and none of the nfo and jpg files will download ?
As explained, SAB has to download them as they are packages inside rar files.

And even if they are not part of the rars, I explained above that we still have to download them and can only delete them after.
Just use the a cleanup list.
