Unable to connect to server.
I have been using SABnzb for a long time. Yesterday it stopped working. Says "Invalid server address" when I test server. I have not changed the address. I am still able to access news server by other means. I tried re-typing the address. No luck. This seemed to happen after a Windows update. NZBget works with the same address but I prefer SABnzb. Thanks for any help.

Won't let me post links. This is address, just add ".com" news.newshosting.

Re: Unable to connect to server.
I tried them all with ssl and 563 for port. No luck. Odd why it worked fine for so long. I made no changes to it. Immediately comes back with "Invalid server address" when i test server. Thanks for your response.
Re: Unable to connect to server.
Hmm, maybe a DNS issue?
Code: Select all
$ nslookup news-eu.newshosting.com
Server: 10.0.0.1
Address: 10.0.0.1#53
Non-authoritative answer:
news-eu.newshosting.com canonical name = news.ams.newshosting.com.

Re: Unable to connect to server.
Got this [Errno 10061] [WinError 10013] An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions
Re: Unable to connect to server.
Sorry, I’m not a Windows user so I can’t help there. It might be your Windows firewall settings.
Maybe someone else can advise?

Re: Unable to connect to server.
Yes, probably firewall on Windows.
Windows, so always Reboot & Try Again.
Small change, but worth a shot:
After the Windows reboot: In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and there click on the Refresh Arrow. What is the output of the upper half, so IP addresses and DNS? If you post the output, because of privacy, change the *first* bytes of the IPv4 address.

Re: Unable to connect to server.
I am able to connect with NZBget. If the firewall is blocking that address would I still be able to connect with NZBgt?
Re: Unable to connect to server.
You probably didn't allow SABnzbd when Windows gave you the popup the first time you started it.. SABnzbd just isn't allowed to make an outside connection.
In the Windows start menu, just type Firewall. It will bring you to the configuration page to allow an application through the firewall. Add SABnzbd.

Re: Unable to connect to server.
I have a total of 18 instances of SABnzb showing and all have the private box checked to allow thru.
Re: Unable to connect to server.
So maybe your current network is someone switched to public?
