Ive got SABNZBD up and running, its downloading things, but I notice that the download speed is varying. It goes up to 8MB/s for a about 6 seconds, then drops down to about 1MB/s for about 30 seconds. Its pretty repetitive. I took a look at the WIKI and made some of the suggested tweaks, but there isnt anything really that has changed.
I check RESMON and the disc i/o looks OK, no big queues. The discs where its being written is a physical spinning disc (not SSD) but they're not being used for anything else, so SABNZBD has almost exclusive access.
I upped the RAM available from 1GB to 2GB (no change)
Its all a bit weird - any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

Low-spec machine?
In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and there click on the Refresh Arrow. Post the numbers from the lower part
