SABnzbd gives me "Probable account sharing" errors with Astraweb

Post by jiwle »

I recently switched to using Astraweb (Unlimited-DSL) as my main account, since then I've been getting probable account sharing errors in SABnzbd at seemingly random intervals. They also always show up in packs of 20.

I'm using the ssl eu server on port 443 with the PIA VPN. Does anyone know what this is about?

Yes.

Your newsprovider sees your account logging from different IP addresses, and thus thinks you have shared your account with a friend.

However, as you use a VPN, the cause for the different IP addresses is different:
* you have the VPN off and then on, causing logins from your ISP and your VPN IP addresses
* your VPN provider gives you different exit points, thus different IP adresses
(* your VPN is not working all the time)

To verify this a bit from SABnzbd: In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and then check your public IP address now and then ...
