Hey Sander,

Ive done a couple of more tests and it seems you are mostly right. With sab 2.0 I reach 65MB/s but that drops after 5 to 8GB.
Ive set the Article Cache Limit to 7G, maybe thats the reason it holds on till about ~8GB.

Went back to sab 3.2 and now, when I VPN from away into my home network, I reach download speeds up to 55MB/s.
Maybe its all coincidental, or maybe related.

Im glad im reaching 50MB/s+ speeds with 3.2.

I'm glad & impressed too: 50 MB/s on a Raspi 4 ... wow!
One of the greatest things of SAB 3: the steady, sustained download speed.

Uhhmmm ... how much RAM do you have on your Raspi? Because the Article Cache Limit should be lower than your RAM.
If you have 4GB RAM, I would set it to 750MB or so. With less RAM even less.

Ah, that explains your experience "With sab 2.0 I reach 65MB/s but that drops after 5 to 8GB."

As said, SAB 3 has solved that.

Can you do something: while SAB and your raspi is doing nothing, measure the CPU performance like this:

In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and there click on the Refresh Arrow.

... what do you get at CPU speed?

On my NUC, I get: System Performance (Pystone) 93847 Intel(R) Celeron(R) J4105

.. so I wonder what the Raspi 4 yields.

Oh, OK. Only half of my Intel Celeron. I had expected the same as my Celeron, so around 100.000
