Ini setting create_group_folders not supported?

Post by pknager »

Just upgraded to the 0.4.7 version. (from 0.2.5) Looks great! But i've one problem. The option "create_group_folders" doesn't work anymore? Every download will be placed in a newsgroupname folder. for example download\alt.binaries.music etc etc.

ps: a search in the forum for create_group_folders did not bring an answer.

We consider the create-group-folder option to be too old-fashioned.
Most people don't know and don't care from which group their download comes.
However, the category feature does support groups.

We do not support group folders any more, however you can get similar functionality using categories.

For example you can create a category called "Test" that will take downloads from alt.binaries.test and put them in a folder named "Test". You can specify multiple groups for a category, to group up similar groups into a singular folder with nicer naming.
