Files not unpacking

Post by cdorri »

Hey everyone,

So I've been having this issue for a while now and I can't for the life of me figure it out. I should probably say I'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to nzb's so I apologise in advance if it isa simple fix! My issues started when I had to fresh install everything on my media server when my boot ssd crashed. Before that Sabnzbd worked great for me!

So the issue is that whenever I download a file it does not get unpacked, I get multiple rar files instead. When I first got the issue I thought it was just a bad file but when the issue kept happening I thought maybe it was a bad install of sabnzb, so I have reinstalled it a few times as well as trying older versions of Sabnzbd but to no avail. When I click the down arrow for more info it says that it has unpacked 0 files in 0 seconds. Im really not sure what to do, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have spent a while searching the forums for someone having the same issue but I wasn't able to find anything.

I am currently running Windows Server 2016 with sabnzbd version 2.1.0

Thanks,

Chris

Can you switch logging to Debug in the Status window, then download 1 more file.
After this, download the log and look for the part that says Calling unrar and then lower it will say Unrar output.
There we can see what is going wrong when it tries to call unrar.

This is what it came up with when I ran it in debug:

"2017-07-03 15:43:47,592::DEBUG::[newsunpack:787] UNRAR output
UNRAR 5.40 x64 freeware Copyright (c) 1993-2016 Alexander Roshal

Incorrect function.
Read error in the file I:\Downloads\incomplete\MasterChef.Australia.S09E46.WEB-DL.x264-MF\MasterChef.Australia.S09E46.WEB-DL.x264-MFO.part01.rar [R]etry, [A]bort
Program aborted"

That is strange. I've never seen this error before.
And when you manually unpack, it works fine?

When you look for Par2 output in the log, what does it say? (if any)

"Incorrect function." is not an unrar message, but a Windows problem / error message, related to disk / install and/or windows service problems.

I would start by putting Incomplete on a local disk, not on I:

I'm slightly shamed to say I'm not sure how to manually unpack a file! I also couldn't find any mention of par2 output in the log file.

I tried Sander's suggestion of moving the incomplete folder on the local disk, and to my surprise it actually worked! No idea why that would fix the problem as previously I also had the incomplete on I:

Thank you so much for the help guys!

Good that it works, but stricly spoken based, on one case you have no proof that the problem is gone. >:D

But experience with a C:-drive is better dan a NAS-drive for the Imcomplete folder.
