SABYENC CAUSE DOWNLOADS TO SLOW TO CRAWL AFTER FEW SECONDS?

I have been running SABNZBD as a windows service on a 64 bit windows 7 machine for years now. I recently updated to version 2.0.0. I noticed that downloads would start out fast but often times after a few seconds their speed would be reduced to an absolute crawl (e.g. 10 KB/s for example). This never used to happen to me until I updated to version 2.0.0. I found that by tinkering with the maximum download speed setting in sabnzbd 2.0.0 i could get this to happen less often, but it would still occasionally occur. I dug into this and found a pattern in my sabnzbd logs. Around the time the speed would reduce to a crawl i would have log entires such as the following snippet:

When sabnzbd is running well i dont seem to see any 'Decoding' lines in the log. This got me to wondering if this issue might be related to the new sabyenc module that was introduced in version 2.0.0. First off, how do I know if my particular install is using sabyenc for sure? Is there a way to toggle whether sabyenc or the old yenc is used on a windows install? I have a strong suspicion my issue is somehow related to this...

NOTE: I upgraded to SABNZBD 2.0.1 RC1 and still seeing same issue.

One more quick detail that might help diagnosis: Pausing and then unpausing seems to make downloads pick up speed again for a few seconds before reverting back to the crawl. Also, I updated my article cache size to 1024MB and still seeing same issue.

I reduced my # of connections from 10 to 5. I still seem to pull the same max download speed from usenet. This seems to have corrected my aforementioned issue with the constant slowdowns (at least I havent seen it happen in the last 24 hours or so). I hope this helps someone else who may be experiencing something similar.

So RC1 is also not fixing it? How about 1.2.3?

Because we fixed and issue in RC1 that looks a lot like yours.
