Hi all,
I'm having a problem opening Sab today... For some reason it didn't open earlier, and then somehow I managed to associate Edge browser with the .exe, and now whenever I try to load Sab, I get this error in Edge:
SABnzbd detected a fatal error:
"C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\sabnzbd\sabnzbd.ini" is not a valid configuration file
Error message: Invalid line at line "1".
Specify a correct file or delete this file.
Program did not start!
I re-installed too, but still; the same.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Mike

Re: File Association
Something went wrong with your settings files.
There should be a file called C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\sabnzbd\sabnzbd.ini.bak also.
Make sure SABnzbd is not running.
Then remove C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\sabnzbd\sabnzbd.ini
and rename C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\sabnzbd\sabnzbd.ini.bak to C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\sabnzbd\sabnzbd.ini
The easiest way is to use WindowsKey-R and then type C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\sabnzbd
Press Enter.
Should the .bak file also be invalid, erase both files.
You will need to configure SABnzbd again.

Re: File Association
Thanks for the quick reply, however even after deleting both ini files, Edge still opens with the same error. The .exe seems to load Edge rather than the actual Sab program?
FYI I NEVER use Edge, only Chrome
EDIT: Re-associated .html files with Chrome, now opens in Chrome, issues with the backup ini, so removed and starting from scratch.
Thanks

Re: File Association
Reading your first message again.
You should not associate the SABnzbd.EXE file with a web browser.
SABnzbd will (at startup) just start the system's default web browser.
What you can let SABnzbd installer do, is associate the .nzb filename extension with SABnzbd.exe
The effect is that when you double-click on an NZB file in Windows Explorer, the NZB file will be sent to SABnzbd.
That also happens when you tell a web-browser to "execute" an NZB file.
