Hello ,
I am very new to Sabnzbd world. I have been searching this forum and I haven't been able figure out how to add a second pc(laptop) to my host(desktop). I have SABNZBD installed on my desktop PC(host is left blank , port 8080). I can see the console - ip address:8080/sabnnzbd only on chrome brower , internet explorer will not open the link on the host pc. however I can see the link on my laptop using internet explorer which is very odd. I have installed Sabnzbd on my laptop but I am not sure what settings I need to configure to point all the downloads to my host pc(desktop). On my laptop do I need to setup usenet account , download folders and host & port id ? I have tried multiple configurations with no luck .Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks.

Re: Help adding a computer to host
There are many versions of Internet Explorer and not all of them work with SABnzbd.
You require at least version 11.
If you run SABnzbd on one systyem (your desktop) and make sure the host address is 0.0.0.0
then other systems within your local network can access it.
However, you do need to tell your software firewall that SABnzbd has permission to listen to other computers.
On your laptop, you only need a web browser.
Use the address http://HOST:8080/sabnzbd
where HOST is the numerical IP of your desktop, usually something like 192.168.1.6

Re: Help adding a computer to host
Thanks shypike, I have my desktop host port set to 0.0.0.0 and Port 8080. i can see the address on my laptop and desktop. I just want to confirm, do i need to install the sabnzbd software on my laptop and set the host & port? For example 192.168.1.21(desktop) and port to 8080. i tried this and the sabnzbd software on the laptop crashes. i think i am missing a step.
Re: Help adding a computer to host
You need only install SABnzbd on one system, probably your desktop.
You can access the user interface from any other system in your local network
with just the web browser.
SABnzbd acts as a small web site.

The web browser on the laptop will upload the NZB file to the desktop computer.
Just use the big + button.
