New to sabnzbd and Uset. MultiWAN and account sharing issues

Post by pa7531 »

Hi,

Hope everyone's doing well. As the topic should say it all, I am new to the world of the usenet and sabnzbd. I just got tired of using torrent and found out there's a whole other world of downloading stuff. So, I read up on it for a while and managed to set everything up for myself, except in the process I missed one crucial point. Where I live, I don't have access to fast broadband connections, so I use pfSense firewall (if anyone here is familiar with it) and have loadbalanced three DSL connections. My DSL connections are from three different ISP providers, so naturally I have three different public IPs to work with. Yesterday when I did my first download, sabzbnd came back with the following error: Probable account sharing (news.newshosting.com@1). Now, I am not entirely sure, if what I am doing will be constituted as account sharing or not, and if so, what are my options? Because a major selling point of using usenet for me was that I could utilize my whole aggregate bandwidth. Also, what stroke me as strange was that sabzbnd seemed to cap-out at only a single bandwidth connection as opposed to utilizing the whole loadbalanced pipeline. (Right now, I don't have a netflow config as to monitor my traffic flow.) Now that could be due to my lack of knowledge in configuring sabzbnd properly, or sabzbnd can't use more than one inbound gateway at a time (hence the account sharing error). Could someone enlighten me please how this works? What my options are exactly? I am a bit confused here, and I don't want to get banned for account sharing. Thank you all in advance, but I also want to utilize the the entire pipeline when downloading.

Use a usenet provider that allows account sharing, for example Eweka. They offer a free trial, so then you can test it. https://www.eweka.nl/en/home/

Make sure you choose the Standard 50 Mbps plan (which does allow account sharing), NOT the 100 Mbps plan.

So Unless I setup my firewall to say use port 119 to only talk through a certain getaway I'm pretty much out of luck with the major newshoting servers that don't support multiwan connections(or as they'd see it as account sharing)? It's a bit odd to hold two or three IP sources that each would be downloading a portion of a file simultaneouslyy in a concerted fashion as account sharing, since usually there's one PC, and one downloading app, that's it's managing all inbound and outbound connections and traffic. By that token, if I use my VPN and each time connect to my newshoting server from a different geolocation, would that be considered as account sharing as well?

Eweka is a major newshoster which allows account / IP sharing. Maybe there are others too. And apparantly your current newshoster does not allow it.

That is something you could discuss with your newshoster. It's their policy.

A VPN solution should work as long as all traffic coming out of the VPN is really coming from one source IP address (so one IP address by the VPN provider).

Account sharing / different IP usage is based on simultaneous IP sharing, not on sequential IP addresses.
