my xennews worked as a friend of mine tried my details using his sabnzdb, but he has a PC and no problems whereas something seems to be stopping my sabnzbd linking to my xennews

So:
you can't reach xennews
you can reach eweka

Strange. I don't understand what is going on. So some trial-n-error aka analys: Can you fill out these servers (which are the IP-addresses for xennews), with your xennews credentials:

81.171.92.194
81.171.118.173

What is the result?

Yes. Create two new server settings.

Good that it works, but it's not good that we can't find out the reason. So let's go one step deeper:

Click on the Wrench symbol (upper right corner), then Show Logging. Open the download sabnzbd.log log file. Find a line like this:

Code: Select all

2016-05-17 15:13:49,492::INFO::[happyeyeballs:111] Quickest IP address for news.xennews.com (port 119, ssl 0, preferipv6 True) is 81.171.92.194
So with "Quickest IP address for news.xennews.com" in it.

Post the output here.

Hi there

Downloaded log and no such line in there i'm afraid. My friend who had logged into my xennews account to try on his sabnzbd was thinking it could have been DNS issues with the xnenews line linked to the host

If there is no "happyeyeballs" line, it means your name resolving gives max 1 IP address. That is strange. DNS problem?

You can only find out if you can get a terminal login on your box running SABnzbd. I don't know if you can do that. If so, type this on the terminal prompt:

Code: Select all

host news.xennews.com
and

Code: Select all

nslookup news.xennews.com
Post the output here.
