Installing New Versions of Sabnzbd

Hi! New to the forum ;D
I use Sabnzbd on my Windows 10 installation...When it notifies me that a newer version of available, it sends me to a link page...What i have been doing is, instead of downloading the installer on the linked page, i have been going to my windows add/remove programs and deleting sab and then downloading the new version from the main sab website...

What i was wondering is, if i instead used the link that Sab's update notification sends me to, and downloaded the .exe file installer of the new version from there, would it automatically replace the old version of Sab i have been using (without me needing to uninstall the old version first)...

I know that most programs i use on windows 10 do that (examples: Google Chrome browser, Adobe PDF Reader) so i was wondering if Sabnzbd update versions work the same way?

Yes you can just download the new version and start the installer without uninstalling the old one first. It will happen automatically! Settings etc will be preserved.

Thanks safihre for your quick response...That is what i thought would happen but i just wanted to be sure...That is great...from now on, when i am notified by sab that there is an update, i will do it that way...It will not only be easier but i won't have to re-enter the information over again as i have had to do the way i was doing it... ;)

By the way, sabnzbd is a great program (and seems to get even better with each update)...it has become my favorite app to use for downloading nzbs i get from nzb search sites... ^-^
