Moving Settings From 0.7 to 1.0 does not work?

Post by AncientWisdom »

Hi

I have a working portable installation of SabNZBd version 0.7.18 (old I know, its the only one I have with me at the moment on a portable HDD)

I have downloaded version 1.0.0 bin and following http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/howto-portable copied the sabnzbd.ini file into the new folder downloaded. However, when I start SaabNZBd it just loads with default settings (shows startup wizard). What am I doing wrong?

Cheers!!!

Are you using the same -f argument for both versions?
What are those?

I'm just running the exe with no arguments in both cases (if I misunderstood your question - sorry, could you be more clear?)

Is your INI file in the same folder as the SABnzbd.exe file?
If so, move it elsewhere (and use -f to specify its location).
If you insist on having it there, use the -f parameter to specify its location.
We dropped the old "feature" of automatically looking for the INI file
in the program folder, because a) that's a bad location and b) it caused problems.

The default location is: c:\users\USERID\AppData\Local\SABnzbd
Only in that case you don't need -f

It's a shame to me that this feature was dropped. I sync the installation folder w/ INI among multiple computers to maintain version, queue and settings while I travel. Now I'll need to create shortcuts on each computer with the -f flag. Not a huge deal, but unnecessary. Other than that, loving 1.0.0 and the glitter theme!

Or just add a little wrapper .cmd script.
