Hello community,
I have a problem accessing to SABnzbd over dyndns and port forwarding.
I'm running a TeamSpeak Server without any problems.
But with SABnzbd it don't work. (outside my LAN)
I enabled https and triggered the port in my fritzbox and via ddns.
If I enter example.de:55556 from outside the network it won't connect.
If I look at the URL bar it shows the intrnal IP so it can't work because it's another network.
But this also shows, that ddns is working correctly so it must be a SABnzbd problem.
Any help?
Thank u
PS: Love this tool and don't want missing it.

Re: Remote Access via port forwarding
What did you tell the router to forward exactly?
I assume your internal systems have fixed local IP addresses?
Which version of SABnzbd are you using?

Re: Remote Access via port forwarding

IP Adress is fixed to 192.168.85.10
Version: 0.7.20
SABnzbd https Port (in settings): 55556
Like I said: TeamSpeak Server is working without problems. (UDP)
Re: Remote Access via port forwarding
I use a similar setup and it works fine.
Is SABnzbd reachable from within your local network?
SABnzbd cannot be only bound to localhost.
You need to use 0.0.0.0 or the local IP address (assuming it's constant).

Re: Remote Access via port forwarding
Yep, in local network I got no problems.
Also with VPN it's working fine.

Re: Remote Access via port forwarding
You are using https to connect to SABnzbd from the outside?
http won't work.
Countless people are using a similar setup, I'm still suspecting your router setup.
You could try to use release 1.0.0RC5

Re: Remote Access via port forwarding
Do do you use HTTPS in the URL you try to use for access to SABnzbd
Do you try that from a device NOT on your LAN, for example your phone connected via 3G/4G (not Wifi)?
If Yes and Yes, I would change SABnzbd-Host to "0.0.0.0" , und dann ein Neustart.

Re: Remote Access via port forwarding
I don't now why but it works now.
Maybe it was the "https" in URL.
But now it also works without "https".
Thanks to all.
Another fast question:
Is it safe to run it?
Or should I implement a VPN?
(Just asking, because I don't know if the software closes the security holes. The last stable version 0.7.2 is released Okt. 2015)
(Sure I run it with complex username and password.)
