Empty download folders?

Post by swany6mm »

First off, I'm a total noob with this. Just found out about all this automated stuff, so I dove in and am learning as quickly as I can. I do try and look for answers before posting, but I'm not having any luck finding my issue.

First, a little bit about what I'm running
QNAP T651
Running SONARR on my Windows 10 machine, but it links to everything on the QNAP
On the Q, I have Transmission installed, but am working my way away from it.
I have SABnzbd+ installed on the QNAP server and have it configured (both on SAB an in SONARR)

I can get Sonarr to hunt down what I'm looking for from my indexer, it passes the nzb file to SAB and SAB downloads it. Once finished, the file (folder) shows up. HOwever, when I try and open it via Windows Explorer (mapped drive), it's emtpy and it's property shows a zero file size. SAB says it downloaded it fine. When you check it, shows how much data it DL'd, etc.

so I tried using WinSCP to telnet in and take a look, and it has no problems opening the file and seeing everything that's in there. Then I use Windows Ex to copy the file from the NAS to a folder on the desktop. Instant transfer, empty folder.

I use WinSCP to copy the same folder (painfully slow (30 minutes to transfer 800MB), to the same location on my Windows Desktop, then, use Windows Ex to check it, it's fine. All files are there and play just fine.

I'm at a total loss. I've tried rebooting the NAS, SAB, and am about to reboot my Windows 10 machine.

Any thoughts? I just can't find anything in my searches that come close to this......

Isn't Sonarr copying the completed file?
That is the idea of Sonarr, it passes the download to SAB and when SAB is done it will move and rename the file to go in the specific folder for the show.
Maybe the Sonarr logs can tell you more (System > Logs)

Ok, may have found my problem. Again, still learning here - I think it had to do with permissions. SAB was set to not give the X in RWX (0766 I think?) Once I added the X's back in (0777), Windows was able to see everything ok. So, I went back into SAB and changed the permissions number there to 0777. I admittedly do not know what the octal is off the top, nor do I know what it "should be" as a default setting. I'll leave it at 0777 for now since it seems to work and will redownload and see what happens.

Quick update - Did not get to test it with Sonarr on the Win10 machine. Found out that there was a QSonarr package for QNAP, so, went and grabbed that, installed it to my 651, configured it exactly the same as the Win10 setup (with obvious changes (ie - pathing)), and it works flawlessly! Found the files I needed, downloaded them, and moved them. This is with Usenet files. BT files (download and move with Transmission) has still to be tested.

The only downside is that Sonarr renames files a bit different than FileBot does (well, at least for the way I have FB setup). I'll have to work that out.
