Hi guys
I've been running Sabnzb with Sickbeard for a number of years on an iMac. In the last couple of days I've bought a new Macbook and set up Sickbeard and Sabnzb from scratch on it.
I had no issues when I set it up, but the following day I noticed that none of the episodes had downloaded, so I manually forced them from Sickbeard, and I could see that it said "nzb sent to sabnzb" but it never showed up in sabnzb.
I did a bit of digging, and after checking my folder settings I could see that something strange had happened. I have an external hard drive for my downloads set up in the following structure - Volume >> External >> Downloads and then I have a Complete and Incomplete folder within that Downloads folder, but for some reason another hard drive had been set up called External1 and all the folder structure and contents had been sent to that folder, and the original External folder was empty - I guess this was the reason the downloads weren't being sent to sabnzb? I tried restarting a couple of times, but noticed that every time I restarted, another drive was added (External2, External3 etc) and every time, the contents and structure of my drive transferred to the latest folder.
The External1 External2, External3 drives that were showing in Sabnzb weren't showing on my macbook or in disk utility, so I did a bit of reading, and by accessing the hidden 'volumes' folder I could see the additional folders, so I deleted them, deleted them from trash and restarted.
After that, it worked fine. I pointed my downloads back to the complete and incomplete folders on the original drive, but I woke up today to the same thing - none of the downloads worked, and a new 'external1' has shown up.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks

Re: Problems on New Macbook
I forgot to add - I'm not sure if this is someway linked to the macbook sleeping or being powered off overnight? My iMac was pretty much on 24/7...
Re: Problems on New Macbook
A laptop going to sleep and an external drive are not a good combination.
SABnzbd will not see that the drive isn't awake and the OS will quietly create a substitute folder.
Make sure you have the "incomplete" folder on the internal drive.
The final destination can be an external drive.

Re: Problems on New Macbook
Ah okay, thanks, so if I did that, once the macbook was back in use, would sabnzb automatically transfer the complete files from the incomplete folder on the internal drive to the complete folder on the external?
One of the other options I was thinking about was in the macbook energy settings to change sleep to 'never' put still allow it to turn the display off after 10 minutes idle time, but I probably need to read up on the consequences of leaving a macbook running all the time.
Thanks very much for your help

No, SABnzbd will not move files.lozkin wrote:Ah okay, thanks, so if I did that, once the macbook was back in use, would sabnzb automatically transfer the complete files from the incomplete folder on the internal drive to the complete folder on the external?
