G'day,
Im wondering how it is possible that with grabit I reached dl speeds up to 40 megabyte p/s and with SAB I cant get it to go higher than 15/20. Thats half speed or less... I do rly like the tool so I would prefer to keep using it ofc.
My server has the following configuration:
CPU: intel xeon e5-2699v3
24GB of memory
a 10gbit network card.
I'm downloading to a 1tb SSD and after its finished I move it to 1 of my other HDD. I did speedtests up to 1000mbit so its not the connection and I also doubt its the server that is too slow to handle it.

Re: "slow" download speeds
SABnzbd is written in Python.
While a nice language, it isn't fast enough to keep up 40 GBytes/sec.
It cannot compete with Grabit on raw speed.

Re: "slow" download speeds
I see, well 20mbyte will do ofc. Just wondering how its possible and if I could do something about it. I really like yer tool. Any way of making a donation via PP? I can also provide you with an unused server thats been payed for for the next 1,5 years. Maybe for hosting or something. For more info you can always send me a direct message.shypike wrote:SABnzbd is written in Python.

Re: "slow" download speeds
We've got site hosting and test hardware covered.
The biggest issue is time. The time needed to measure and experiment
with ways to increase speed.
There is room for improvement, but the problem is finding out where.
