Incomplete downloads - 79KB rar fragments/"Repair failed"

Post by graytonpint »

Stumbled into an odd one with a fresh install of sabnzbd on a new system.
  • Problem manifests across _all_ nzbs. Including ones linking to fragments that I am able to download via the newsserver's web interface.
  • When the download is occurring, it proceeds in fits and starts rather than the ramp-up and smooth progression that another computer on the same network, targeting the same newsserver, achieves.
  • When I look into the incomplete folders for any of these nzbs, I find...
    • An admin folder containing skip_qcheck, verified, an attrib file and another small rar.
    • Some parity files that seem truncated
    • Some very small rar fragments around 79KB
Does anybody have any thoughts about troubleshooting or seen this one in the wild before?

Does SABnzbd say that any articles are missing?
(See download report, click on the History entry).
If not, then the NZB is incomplete.

Yes. It is reporting that articles are missing.

Example: "Downloaded in 3 minutes 14 seconds at an average of 2.5 MB/s 1527 articles were missing"

And that seemed to point to a server misconfiguration.

I changed the configured port and am able to download test files. While I don't have an explanation for why other computers on the network are still capable of successful downloads with the original configuration, this seems to point to something odd on this server only. I'll dig into it a little further and if I can isolate that get back to you. Thanks for the quick pointer that encouraged me to try a couple of variations.
