Re: Group matching RSS results

I don't know how much this would take to implement, it seemed like something that could just work together with the checking of the filters against the RSS feed. But I haven't seen the source code, so if you say it's too complicated I'll have to take your word for it. As for the indexer, I don't kno...

Group matching RSS results

I would like to request a feature for the RSS feeds. I would like to be able to group together all results that match the same filter on an RSS feed. This would only have to be grouped for matches in the current, latest rss feed. These grouped results would then be sent to the queue as a single down...

Re: [Feature #43] Max-retention heuristics suggestion

That script does sound promising, but i think it would be more useful if you didn't implement it as a pre-downloading script. From what i understand of the explanation of how that script works, it sends a stat-command to see if an article is available without actually downloading it. This seems to t...

Re: Post-processing scripts affecting jobs they're not supposed to.

Looking at the code, you could be right. I'll let you know when I know more. There is indeed a bug in this area. It will be fixed in the next minor release. Thanks for your patience to explain it. No problem, I'm just glad to know that it'll be fixed in the next release. Thanks for your help with t...

Re: Post-processing scripts affecting jobs they're not supposed to.

Oh, I'm sorry about that. I changed the script settings back to see if that will fix it when the rss finds new downloads. That's to verify that having the script for every filter on Default does make it work correctly. The problem did occur when i had some (3 to be specific) filters set to a differe...

Re: [Feature #43] Max-retention heuristics suggestion

I hadn't considered those arguments, especially the DMCA notices. I think that the manual retention setting, though not perfect, would be the only real way to set the retention of a server. Mostly because usenet providers do actually give a very specific retention limit for binary posts. The "s...

Re: [Feature #43] Max-retention heuristics suggestion

I can understand that it could be complicated. On the reason you give though, even if things are downloaded simultaneously, you should at some point be getting a completed or failed for these downloads. So even if it might not be the first three articles of the post, you can still check if 3 article...

[Feature #43] Max-retention heuristics suggestion

I noticed the max-retention feature and i had some thoughts on this. I don't know if this will help or not, but i thought I'd give some suggestions on possible heuristic methods for this. I saw there was a possible max retention time that would have to be found. I think it would be good to have a mi...
