Did you ever find a resolution to this? I'm having a similar issue on Ubuntu 10.04, Sab 0.7.2, SickBeard Alpha (Sab and SickBeard both from Git). I can manually run the sabToSickBeard.py with the correct folder name, and all goes well. But sab never fires it off itself. I haven't yet tested CouchPot...
