I knew it was something basic. I tested Port 119 it was OK, but I reverted to Port 0 (as that was what Xnews and BinReader used). But your advice that Port 0 is not usable did the trick - Set port to 119 and now there is activity :-) Virgin are effectively stopping News access 10:00 to 24:00 daily, ...

Port 0 was the one I used with other programs - both 0 and 119 work with a Test Connect. The Pause button was yellow - I clicked it and set a 5 minutes pause - this expired and still nothing.
