NZB indexers and searching
When searching, do most search engines on these NZB indexers look at the "title" of the post? I usually use NZBClub but I know there's a thousand others. I've done searches where I search for a specific string like mad.men.S06E06 and what I get back is 4 refs to mad.men.SE06E06 but a pile ...

Re: Questions on Speed and Interface and Retention
OK, you got me! I did actually try to use the "service" mode about three times the other day. And so naturally, that's probably why it's resetting. I won't do that any more now that I know the consequences. Still am unable to set port 8080 under Config > General. 8085 sticks around with ev...

Re: Questions on Speed and Interface and Retention
Launch Browser now turned on. I know I'd set that option on at least three times before. I think it keeps getting reset to "off". I'm going to keep an eye on it and check it regularly. I can now launch the executable and the browser fires up and shows the UI. Still unable to solve the myst...

Re: Questions on Speed and Interface and Retention
@shypike: The system has issues with 127.0.0.1 or it cannot find out what the default browser is. Are there specific things I can look for to address these two issues? Hosts file? Another "server-like" process running against 127.0.0.1? Another browser was installed and is still lingering ...

Re: Questions on Speed and Interface and Retention
Correction: SABnzbd is being launched from c:/Program Files/SABnzbd/SABnzbd.exe and thus not as a service. Given that, the systray icon provides the pop-up selection to "Show Interface" but it never shows anything. I have to launch it by IE > type-in: 127.0.0.1:8085/SABnzbd. If I launch vi...

Re: Questions on Speed and Interface and Retention
OK, so there are two methods to run it. If I choose not to run as a service, then what I gather is, I must launch the UI from the browser address of 127.0.0.1:8085/sabnzbd/ becuase in this mode, it won't launch from the systray agent even though a menu pik for "Show Interface" is offered. ...

Re: Questions on Speed and Interface and Retention
Hi. No I did not use the -s switch in the service. I went to services.msc looking for a SABnzbd service there. Does the service run out of that facility? I also looked for an instance of the service in Task Mgr. I also visited Config > Special looking for a "-s" to invoke. Do I need to uni...

Re: Questions on Speed and Interface and Retention
As I write this, the speed indic shows "49 Bs?sec - way low. But never out of the systray. I wonder why? Retention: I have selected a show in which NZBClub claims the age at 44 days. My provider caps at 1000 days retention. The selected d/l runs but after a long while (see above) fails with th...

Questions on Speed and Interface and Retention
Hello - What a great program this is! Am using XP Pro SP3 on a Fios pipe. For normal computer Ops (browsing, eMail, video and audio streaming), this works like gangbusters. Speed with SABnzbd: I notice that a majority of TV posts I request go wicked slow. A few (1 or 2 or 3) go wicked fast. My provi...

Re: Trouble after installing - no repsonse to "Show Interfac
Yes, indeed, I just went there. I'm testing a long D/L to get a feel for it. I'll restart everything later and try it fresh. WoW! Look at all these Options! And one thing I really like is it keeps a record (History) of what's been D/L'd. GrabIt can't do that! No wonder that other user was so "h...

Re: Trouble after installing - no repsonse to "Show Interfac
Ahh! Perfection! Ran through the wizard, setup complete. Am now sitting at the SAB UI. So the port doesn't matter in that section of the .ini. I'm going to change it back to 8085.

Re: Trouble after installing - no repsonse to "Show Interfac
See this screenshot: http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/572/sabnzbdlocalhostproblem.jpg Then there's: SABnzbd won't start! This typically occurs because for some reason SABnzbd can't open port 8080 , or whatever port you've set it to run on. Unfortunately, this could be caused by a wide variety of i...

Trouble after installing - no repsonse to "Show Interface"
OK so I've come to SABnzbd at the suggestion of another user who raved about it and I thought I'd give it a try. I've downloaded and installed ver 0.7.11 on Windows XP Pro, SP3. Custom made aBit AMD-dual-core system, 2gB RAM, large disk about 1/2 full. I'm on the Admin account. Ordinary web traffic,...
