Just want to post my solution. Experienced the same problem today, and was led to my old post when googling.
The problem seems to be caused by an invalid DNS address. After setting the DNS address everything works fine.

Right now it says connection successful. But atm the server works with supernews as well.

It's a very small company offering fiber connection in the capital only, so not much information to find. But I doubt they do any filtering, because IP filtering, download limits or similar is not very common in Norway. Is there some way to check if my isp do filtering? I've tried traceroute and tha...

I'm having trouble downloading. I use ubuntu 12.04, sabnzbd+ 0.7.0 and supernews (news.eu.supernews.com, port 563). My downloads work just occasionally, mostly at night it seems like. When I click test server I get "invalid server adress" when the downloads are not working, if they are wor...
