Awesome, that was indeed the problem.I did use a drive letter for the final destination. I now changed it to the UNC path, and it works.

Yea! :-)

Oh, and the temp folder is on the server's local disk, so I'm using a drive letter there.

I consider the old behaviour a bug. Huh, really? Because I personally think the usenet names (e.g. Doctor.Who.2005.S06E04.720p.HDTV-BiA) is a great name to store an episode under but a crap name to type when saving the NZB. I recently updated my 0.5.x install to 0.6.1. It seems that NZB chaining has changed with that. It used to always download each chained NZB under it's own name.
